Bio
Brian Nieves has been enamored with them art of photography since he was a child. His main inspiration was to speed up picture time on family vacations. The pain of standing still next to an amusement park sign while his father worked on focusing the camera was enough for Brian to take matters into his own hands, his fathers OM-1. Brian went on to study at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He graduated in 1997 with BFA in commercial photography. Working with Digital and Instant film, Brian strives to hone his craft through the everyday challenges of life.
“I use photography as a tool for bringing often overlooked segments of life to the viewer. The alley passed each day, a roadside vignette, the mesmerizing flicker of flames. To stop these moments, to record them for the future, to capture time. It’s about memories of what was in life with hope for what can be.”
Brian is a freelance photographer based out of Accord, NY.
